Magnetic Laminating Cartridge
Tough day at work..
These two ladies were asking for some magnetic laminating cartridge. Not knowing where it would be, I asked on the walkie if any team members know where it could be. Phillip said we dont carry any more laminating things and the two ladies hear this and they started going off on me. "That's not possible, the magnetic thing was sold in this store!," said one lady. Me, being as easily intimidated, tried my best to figure out what they were lookin for so I asked for help in the electronics department. At this time, one of the ladies said it wasn't an electonic thing but rather a hand-operated device. She also mentioned that it is used very often in scrapbooking. I kinda remembered seeing some scrapbooking things by the picture frames section so I led them over there. There was none....
I asked Sarah and she said the scrabbooking stuff are in the Stationery department. C's... my zone. I was wrong.
I feel stupid. i hate being wrong.
I went back to the scrapbooking aisle (which I can't believe I forgot) and tried to look for the cartridge. No success. The two ladies came and kept asking and I told them that's all we've got and we don't have the thing they were lookin for. She even started to ask if a person who actually knows the area is available. Too bad I was alone in the blue side at that exact moment for the other ppl are either on break or are doing their pulls. One of them was like, "That's pretty odd that you don't carry them anymore.. I bought the machine not even a YEAR ago..."
Well, I've seen things go out of stock within a week. I would be not surprised at all that the thing, which according to her was "popular among scrapbookers," is not being carried anymore by the store. After all, we are "Target" and not "Scrapbook Depot."
I just shut up and watch them walk away. I kinda felt bad misleading them to the other side of the store but I didn't like how the lady somewhat blamed me on why we don't carry the laminating magnet shooshoo.
So I resumed my zoning.. After around ten minutes, I got a call for stationeries. The lady was asking for the exact magnetic laminating cartridge! I think they are hoping to get to talk to a different guy but coincidentally, I was alone in the department so they are out of luck. Besides, even if they didn't get to talk to me, that won't change the fact that we don't carry the item. I was just a lil pissed for some reason.
So there, I carried on. I did what I was supposed to do. I tried to finish my section but Ryan was rushing us so I kinda rushed zoning the pen/pencil aisle. When Ryan walked the C's he called me back to redo the pen aisle! I feel bad. All along, I was thinking I would never be asked to redo my perfect zone. felt kinda embarrassed because he even said I "did a VERY bad job in doing the pen aisle." It wasn't my character to do mediocre zoning and this brings me to my dilemma...
I realized that ever since I worked at Target, I am usually alsways the last to finish my zone. I feel like I am holding up the whole team. I tried to be fast but I am rather, kinda more meticulous. I don't let foreigns hidden in the shelves pass thru. I replace misplaced things even if they are sitting comfortably on the shelves. I pulled everything on pegs. Tonight, Since they were rushing us, I settled on what is "good enough" on normal days. Bad timing for that, I guess. Ryan was PMS'ing.
Actually, Ryan (who is the LOD - Leader on Duty) asked to redo ALOT of other done zones. Tim (another team leader) and Barbara Started to talk back on the walkie because Ryan was asking everyone to go back to the zones that were just declared done! There was tension for those few minutes. They were pretty feisty comebacks and I was just thinking that the LOD cannot fire anyone.
This attitude led me and Myrna to think that probably, a big boss will arrive the next morning to check the store. But for me, this is another "proof" in my head that Ryan, the boss, doesnt like me. This actually started yesterday because of how he talked to me and ordered me to do things. Usually, other team leaders like Kim and Paul are nice enough to ask but he seemed to be going thru some Midlife Crisis of some sort.
