Behold the Purple Missile

Today is Mine and Kat's "First Year Anniversary of the Day we First Met." At last, we officially know each other for a year today. Too bad neither of us are AOL users so we can't go back to the match chat we met in. ahh.... memories.

Spring break is over. It was kinda cool and relaxing, but here I am, back to the pressures of school and HW's. well, I just built models anyway in spring break. I also saw The Passion of Christ (Monday) and Dawn of the Dead (Saturday) with my ate.

Last wednesday, Ate drove me to Arlington to get a model kit (Accurate Miniatures Avenger) because it was not available in the Lewisville Hobby Lobby (They have this 1/2 price off sale that I should never miss). Unfortunately, it was sold out there (there were three boxes the previous week!) Hearbroken, we just took a walk in the mall as I decided to get my Tamiya Wildcat backup kit. When we got to the our neighbor branch (of Hobby Lobby, of course) , There it was! They have an Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBF-3D Avenger kit! Naturally, I grabbed it before anyone could snatch away MY model.

Owell, I still want to get the Wildcat.

And a Tamiya Corsair...

Again, I just built my two Mustangs (P-51A and A-36) and some of the F-5E ightning (P-38 recon derivative) during the break. I ruined the underside of the lightning's pod by placing it on a thinner-wet tissue overnight. This worked well in melting the scribed detail and fusing it with the tissue. I fixed this with sanding and should be fine after rescribing the panel lines. After setting it aside, I proceeded detailing the inside cockpit of the mustangs with wiring and paint, Basically, that's it. I do't think all the things I added were that visible tho.

Last Friday, I went to Wingren to study with Gustavo and Sam. I got a copy of last semster's test to review on for the upcoming test next Thursday. I hope I do REALLY well on this one.

And Kat bought a model kit!! Isn't that cool!?!? I got her interested in modeling, I hope she likes it tho. For some reason, I am more excited for her than her herself. weirdness. She got a 1/48 Academy Corsair with free glues and brush from the vendor because she's a "new woman modeler." ...How I wish to be a woman modeler these days...

Anyway, today is the first school day after Spring break. T'was OK. I got 51 in my Fluids test and 76 in Enginering analysis. Fun grades.

I crammed my Lab report last night but it was the shortest one I have written yet (Thermal Conduction). I was done before midnight. I finished my Programming HW before the class which was good. I hate cramming but owell.

My group (With Shane Crider) had the longest lab activity today. Free and forced convection. It takes a long ass time to stabilize the tempereature of the hot plate so we were the last group to finish. Out of shear boredom, we planned to build an R/C Submarine with cameras. The idea is to use aerodynamic forces to "sink" the boat instead of using water ballasts inside the "fuselage." We're thinkin of putting four fan motors - two on the tail for forward translation and an additional two in the wings for sinking. We are planning to use the engneering machine shop but buy the materials ourselves. Big problems we are expecting are water-sealing of the boat and the wiring of the motors and cameras. This wouldbe a really cool project if we ever get to it.

Athena gave me (through Jannielu) a bunch of condoms today (five, to be specific). I have no idea why but I was like "Oh yeah, I use this everyday. Thank you very much!"

And I got a haircut.... interesting stuff.
